Quick! There’s still time to order your Barbie as Tippi Hedren in The Birds doll for Christmas. Maybe they’ll also issue a corpulent Ken as Alfred Hitchcock doll who will corner Tippi Barbie and . . . well, maybe we don’t want to go there. But why not Barbie as Kim Novak in Vertigo, or Barbie as Grace Kelly in To Catch a Thief? How about a Barbie as Eva Marie Saint doll complete with a North by Northwest Mount Rushmore display and a train tunnel where Barbie and Ken can . . . okay, we really don’t want to go there. But right now, I’m holding out for this as a stocking stuffer.

On the other hand, the first 250 episodes of The Bat Segundo Show are available on three DVD-ROMs. That’s interviews with everyone from T.C. Boyle and Octavia Butler to Richard Price and William Gibson.
